A Week of Serving & Loving Our Community
May 11-18, 2024

At FBC Summerfield, our vision is to "...reach Summerfield and beyond for the cause of Christ." One way we can fulfill our vision is through tangible expressions of love and service to our community. During the week of May 11 – 18, we will be hosting several ministry projects throughout  Summerfield and our surrounding communities.  Below you will find a listing of the projects we will host throughout the week. We hope you and your family will join us for one or more of these projects throughout the week.    

PRAYER WALK

Project Leader: Pastor Kelly Bullard
Project Date: Saturday, 5/11 (9:00am)
Participants will prayer walk Summerfield Road from the Town Hall to the Fire Station, making stops along the way for group prayer. We will be
assisted by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office to ensure everyone’s safety.
All ages are encouraged to participate.
Meet at: FBCS parking lot, beginning at 8:30am, for shuttle to Town Hall
Who: All ages are welcome to participate, No project size limit

TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCH 

Project Leader: Pastor Josh Howland
Project Date: Tuesday, 5/14 (9am-12pm)
Participants in this project will help prepare gift bags and deliver lunch to
area schools as an appreciation to teachers & school administration.
Meet at: FBCS Fellowship Hall
Who: All ages are welcome to participate (No project size limit)

FOOD DISTRIBUTION & PRAYER

Project Leaders: Pastor Derrick Moody & Pastor Josh Howland
Project Date: Saturday, 5/11 (@10:30am, immediately after prayer walk)
We will pack and deliver food bags to targeted areas throughout our
community. As we provide these bags of food, we will pray for families
and their needs. We will gather in the fellowship hall to pack the bags of
food around 10:30 a.m. (immediately after the prayer walk) and then
divide into teams for distribution and prayer.
Meet at: FBCS Fellowship Hall
Who: All ages (children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult
if participating in distribution); Project limited to 30 participants.

FIRE FIGHTER & FAMILY APPRECIATION

Project Leader: Pastor Derrick Moody
Project Date: Wednesday, 5/15 (6:00pm-7:30pm)
To show our appreciation of our local fire department personnel we will
have an appreciation dinner and celebration for them and their families.
Participants of this project will help with set up, serving food, help with the
children’s activities and clean up after the event is over.
Meet at: FBCS Christian Life Center
Who: All ages are welcome to participate (Project limited to 30 participants)

COUNTRYSIDE VILLAGE ASSISTED LIVING

Project Leader: Carlton Sherron
Project Date: Monday, 5/13 (5-8pm)
Participants will work to remove an old fence and install a new wooden
fence at Countryside Assisted Living Center.
Meet at: Countryside Village, 7700 Hwy 158 East, Stokesdale
Who: All ages (children must be accompanied by parent)
Project limited to 10 participants

MEALS ON WHEELS & FBCS SHUT-IN CARE BAGS 

Project Leader: Rev. Lonnie Marsh
Project Date: Thursday, May 16 (10:00am)
We will prepare care bags which will be delivered to our FBCS shut-ins as well as Meals on Wheels recipients in our community.
Meet at: FBCS Fellowship Hall
Who: All ages are welcome to participate (No project size limit)

BIRD HOUSES OF JOY

Project Leader: Pastor Kelly Bullard
Project Dates: Monday, 5/13 (6-7:30pm) & Tuesday, 5/14 (6-7:30pm)
In partnership with Matthew Hannon in the completion of his Eagle
Scout project, we will be assembling bird house kits and then installing
them. Participants will assemble the bird houses on Monday, May 13
(6-7:30pm) in the fellowship hall. We will deliver and install the bird
houses at rest homes and other locations on Tuesday, May 14
(6pm).

Who: All ages (children must be accompanied by an adult)

DISASTER RELIEF WAREHOUSE

Project Leader: Ben Dawkins
Project Date: Thursday, 5/16 (5pm - 8pm)
Participants in this project will work at the Baptist On Mission Relief
Warehouse in Greensboro. We will build a separation wall inside
the facility, maintain equipment, clean the facility, organize supplies,
and more.
Meet at: Relief Warehouse, 3503 Holts Chapel Rd, Greensboro
Who: Youth (High School Age & Up) & Adults Only

FOUNDERS
DAY

Project Leader: Pastor Eric Simmons
Project Date: Saturday, 5/18 (9:00am -5:00pm)
Participants in this project will serve on a 2 hour rotation, greeting
people and distributing church promotional items, at our booths at the
Summerfield Founders Day.
Meet at: Next to Summerfield Fire Department on Summerfield Rd
Who: 4 people needed per 2 hour shifts between 9am and 5pm,
(10 people needed 9-11am)
