PURPOSE
To provide individuals desiring intensive training in serving God’s people the opportunity to explore and experience church ministry through a specially designed internship program.
MISSION
• Expose accepted interns to a variety of experiences associated with ministry.
• Educate interns in the foundations of spiritual leadership and logistical administration.
• Evaluate intern experience periodically to ensure calling and spiritual gifts for ministry.
• Create a well-rounded experience exposing the joys, triumphs, challenges, and opportunities of service in full-time ministry.
BENEFITS OF INTERNSHIP
• Hands-on experience in the realities of serving on an active church staff
• In-depth leadership training by pastoral staff
• Character development
• Ministry practicum
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a follower of Christ and baptized
• Recommended from a pastor or church staff member of a Southern Baptist Church
• At least 17 years of age with plans to attend Bible College or Seminary
• Must pass a criminal background check
EXPECTATIONS
• Work 10-15 hours per week, including weekend services (Note: Summer internships available)
• Attend weekly staff meeting
• Attend weekly meetings with Pastor or staff supervisor
• Attend church services regularly
• Assist with general office administration
COMPENSATION
• The internship is unpaid.
