M2535 Meal Ministry
What is the M25:35 Meal Ministry?
Matthew 25:35 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in”. In this ministry our church has the opportunity to provide about 200 meals to those in need, on the 1st Monday of each month. But that is not all we are doing; we also will show them the love of Christ as we listen, talk and pray with them. If this sounds like something you would like to help with you can sign up to help in a few different ways. We need teams that will help with the preparation and packing of the meals and we need another team that will go to the Guilford County Courthouse and serve the meals outside. Due to the nature of this ministry, this is only open to adults; 18 and older.
Preparation/packing team details: The meals will be prepared during the day at the church. Please come to the church kitchen by 4:45pm. The food will then be packed into individual containers and ready to leave the church no later than 6pm.
Serving team details: The team will serve the meals and then walk around and talk with those that are there. You can either meet at the church by 6pm to carpool or meet outside the courthouse by 6:45. We will be done by around 8pm and then head back to the church. The meals are given outside, rain or shine. So please dress appropriately for the weather.

COATS FOR THE CITY
We will be making our annual mission trip to New York City, December 5-8. Coats for the
City is a missional opportunity where we pass out coats and share the Gospel with the
nations. We’ll be serving alongside Pastor Joseph Biswas and his church, the Evangelical
Bengali Church. We have a goal of collecting 1000 coats this year for New York and we
would like to take a team of 30 people. We are still working on finalizing the costs, but it will
be between $600-$800 to attend. This cost includes, hotel lodging, breakfast, metro card for
subway travel, and airfare. Scholarships are available. There will be an informational
meeting for anyone interested in going next Sunday, April 14th at 4pm, in the Fellowship Hall.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Coats Ministry, please contact Pastor Eric Simmons.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, more than 188 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love. Tens of thousands of volunteers from local churches around the world partner with us to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ at festive outreach events where children are surprised with these shoebox gifts. For more information on making a contribution to OCC or backing a shoebox, please contact Maria Sutton.
